Scott Cramer

Scott comes to Blacksburg from Knoxville, TN - first as a VT student back in 2002 (Go Hokies!) - and now as an alumnus living here in the NRV.

A Deacon at The River, Scott was ordained in the Diocese of Christ our Hope (ACNA) in October 2018. As our Director of Discipleship, Scott has a passion for getting people into God's Word while getting God's Word into people, and making disciples who will become disciple-makers.

Scott oversees our discipleship group leaders for weekday homegroups, men's & women's groups, and other discipleship programming. He also uses his analytical / engineering background to help many of our church’s ministry teams run smoothly. Scott assists our pastor in planning and leading Sunday worship, and loves the blend of the ancient and contemporary in our Anglican liturgy at The River. Got questions about how liturgy and the sacraments form us as faithful Christians; or really about anything Anglican … Scott’s your man :)

You can also find Scott enjoying and watching plenty of sports with friends, volunteering with Young Life in the NRV, studying for his online seminary degree through Gordon-Conwell, enjoying a tasty beer, and planning our annual mission trips to Belize!
