Our summer sermon series, “The Good News in the Old Testament,” will explore key narratives and figures in the Old Testament and how they relate to the New Teatament life and ministry of Jesus — demonstrating that the Old Testament is not just a historical book but also a revelation that leads us to a deeper understanding of the Good News we have in the Messiah, Jesus Christ.
Chris Andrews preaches from 2 Samuel 12:1-7 and Matthew 13:10-17. Parables use the power of story to get past our defenses and cut to the heart. Nathan's parable awoke King David to his sin with Bathsheba and led to God's redeeming his story. If we have ears to hear, Jesus can finish our stories and redeem them into parables for his glory.
